Hi, I've been climbing sport for a few years (mostly single pitch, but some 5 and under multi-pitches), and trad for about a year. Aside from the basics I'm mostly self-taught, and because of that there are a whole bunch of gaps in my knowledge, from rope-management to route and trip preparations, to even some anchor building. I've flipped through it but haven't read it yet and it does look pretty awesome, seems like it combines the information from an intro to climbing book, an anchors book, multi-pitch book, alpine climbing book, glacier and snow travel, and self rescue book into one. Kind of looks like a more climbing specific focused Freedom of the Hills.
It definitely depends on what kind of climbing you are planning on doing. There are three main types: bouldering, top-roping, and lead (also called sport climbing).
